So what is happening that weekend? On Saturday the 13th, there will be a parade in Paphos, a number of costumed carnival parties and at lunchtime on the 14th there is a Grand Carnival Parade in Limassol. Monday 15th February is Green Monday, the start of Lent. It is when Cypriot families gather in fields around the country, barbecue seafood and eat vegetables (no meat, or dairy), drink Cypriot wine and wander from group to group chatting, sharing food and flying kites.
